HEy there. I am new to lightscribe, so I wanted to burn some dvd's with it. Well I tried to download Lightscribe lable template, the software, well when I tried to install it, it said the driver was out of date. SO I clicked on the lightscribe driver utility and hit the update button, it linked me to the lightscribe site for the driver 1.18. I downloaded it and installed it, it goes all the way to the end, and gives me an error code (I am running windows vista x64, with all updates. Laptop is Asus g50vt)

Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component

{97F81AF1-0E47-DC99-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E}

HRESULT: 0x80070002.

Then it rolls back the installation. I clicked my startmenu and it there was a lightscribe folder there, but nothing in it! It uninstalled it. Can you please help me fix this?

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium SP1+ on one HP Notebook PC & Windows & on another HP Notebook PC & both have installed & run the 1.18.17.1!

I ran your 1935 & 0x80070002 by the Diagnostic Utility & nothing comes up!

Do you have .NET 3.5 or greater & the latest C Runtime Library?

Avast deleted trusted installer. I got it replaced and it seems to work fine now! Thanks!

HRESULT: 0x80070002 could be Adware on your computer: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2005/02/01/364375.aspx

But I think this is a .NET Framework issue. Do a Windows Update and get all the .NET Frameworks stuff you can. Then try to burn a label.

I'm having the same problem.  I had an older version and went to update it, but it uninstalled mine as well.  Any help?  I've tried downloading the diagnostic utility but get the same message.

Windows 1935 errors can also stem from the following 3rd party programs running background:

WinTools, WinEasy, WebSearch, Easy Installer, System Mechanic, and HP Component Manager.

I am trying to install LS template 1.18.22.2 on the F drive of a multi drive PC..  I keep getting "1155:File F:\lightscribefiles\instmsi30.exe file not found as soon as the template exe starts.  Cannot find this file anywhere after running LS Update, LS diagnostics or LS simpl... products.  Where would this file be?

If I understand your post correctly you downloaded the Lightscribe Template Labeler 1.18.2.2 application for Windows and get that error message when you try to install it...is that correct?

     What directory did you download and save the file to?  Generally speaking good practice is to download and install programs from the root boot drive that the operating system resides on. (normally C) You can always select a target directory upon program installation.  I think the file you are referring to may reside in the Windows Installer component. How many physical and partitioned drives do you have on your system?  Is this a multi OS/boot system?
