I have a suggestion on how you coould manufacture a full color capable disk without changing the current LightScribe drives. It would require a software update though. I understand you have solid color Lightscribe discs that a grayscale image can be 'scribed opon. And, I'll assume, the drives use the specially coated disc (and hub markings) to align the image to the discs. So. Create discs that have a radial 'TV' coloring. Red, Green, and Blue radial stripes that blend together into a white background. Or Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow stripes. Of course, the density of radial stripes would have to be the same as the DPD (dots per degree) of rotational 'scribing. Software changes would take a color image, split it into 3 grayscale images for RGB. Then these would be radially interlaced so you could 'scribe over the red & green stripes leaving just the blue. Or any combination of interlaced gray to create the colors needed. All things considered, this is just a suggestion. CMY instead of RGB might be the better way, I'm not sure. New software, like a plugin or update, and a new disk type with the same coating technology. This is my two cents. -Lloyd. lloyd@robotmonkeylab.com
