Lightscribe Error Message: "A communication error has occurred with the lightscribe drive. Please restart your Mac and try the label again."

Observations:

1. Re-starting the computer doesn't help

2. The Lighscribe DVD+R disk is from Verbatim

3. The Verbatim Lightscribe disk is being inserted into the removal drive correctly

4. I am using version 1.2.2 of LaCie Lightscribe Labeler

5. I have tried using several Lighscribe DVD+R disks and all of them produce the same "communication error."

How can I successfully use the LaCie Lightscribe Labeler for Mac given these troubleshooting attempts that have already been determined?
