I find it hard to believe the HP / LightScribe has not solved the problem with soooo many people having it.  The interesting fact is the "Simple Labeler" works just fine on my set up running MS XP and my recently purchased LightScribe internal drive.  It is very limited as far as content is concerned. I hate the fact that there is no easy way to get any kind of support or solution to this GLARING problem from a live human being here in the USA. Yes, I have sent e-mails and no response.  I have done everything listed to do TWICE and no change.  Any chance someone in the company can fix it??

I am just a user and not with the company but if the Simple Labeler on XP with an internal drive works fine what computer/OS/label program and when in the label burning process do you get the 4231 error? Unfortunately the 4231 error indicates a API failure and that encompasses a very wide variety of potential problem areas.  There seems to be an abundance of grief stemming from Windows 7 and incorrect/incompatible SATA controller motherboard drivers, incorrect/outdated optical drive drivers, drive firmware versions that don't seem to be fully compatible with Operating system/Lightscribe combinations, USB drives on hubs , interrupted drive data communication and discs needing cleaning in the index mark area. As far trying everything listed twice does that include changing the "LSPrintDialog.exe" process priority from normal to high in Task Manager prior to "printing" the label?
