I share this experience with you, since it was a source of great frustration for me and I noticed a number of threads which have similar issues.

I have a computer, a little over a year old, with a LiteOn DVD burner and running Windows XP 64-bit.  To date, I had done two Lightscribe labels, several months back, both using a Nero product.  Both didn't have issues, but when I sat down tonight to do it, it didn't work right.  I kept getting an "internal error" and was prompted to reinstall LSS.  I reinstalled that, I installed and tried the Lightscribe label maker, but no avail -- it still failed to realize that I had the capability to burn Lightscribe discs.

Faced with trying to update firmware on the DVD drive or buy more media, I tried just reinstalling the Nero CD that came with the drive initially, and it worked.  I'm not sure why it did -- perhaps there was some software (Nero, LSS) that I had inadvertently updated and it no longer worked, or maybe XP updated itself.  Either way, when I reinstalled the old Nero, it let me burn Lightscribe dics again.

Maybe it won't work forever, and I'll have to keep doing it.  But I share it with everyone just in case it helps them out.  At the very least, it's a free shot at something that could help out, before you invest in different brand CDs.  (I've been using HP CDs, which aside from this issue, have been working fine.)  Best of luck to all with their issues.

My issue is that I used to burn my Lightscribe but now all I get is text stating that no media was found. I have tried CD's and DVD's and it light it is not recoginizing the drive. The normal operation of this drive is OK,

Is this a common problem ?
