I can't install LSS and looking through the Forums others users Mac users have the same problem. Therefore lightcribe is not Mac compatible.

I have a MAC and have installed HOWEVER, I will say it is something I never can rely on.... I burned on picture beautifully yet came back today (just a few weeks later) and had a project to LightScribe but it didn't want to work. I just bought this burner and installed all updates in mid-Feb. Today they had me follow a whole series of steps and once again could burn. I can't help but wonder if it'll work or not the next time.

Hi !

To the best of my knowledge the LS Template Labeler & its templates are not compatible with MACs unless you can run Windows too.

The only software on this site for the MAC is the LS Simple Labeler which uses "borders" and can accept 2 Text Fields.

The installing the LS Simple Labeler should generate a tree as follows:

LIGHTSCRIBE
├───common
└───SimpleLabeler
    ├───content
    │   ├───html
    │   │   ├───help
    │   │   │   └───images
    │   │   └───userMessages
    │   └───images
    │       ├───animations
    │       │   └───swoosh
    │       └───borders
    │           ├───fullsize         Border Images
    │           ├───metadata     XML "Templates"
    │           └───thumbnails   of the Border
    └───plugins
        └───accessible

I posted this in another area but it might get some response here.

I have Macs with OS 10.6.2 and bought an HP dvd drive with Lightscribe capability, downloaded and installed the appropriate LSS and Labeler software, and have been unable to label a single disc on any of my Macs. I am using HP's own Lightscribe dvd discs. I was able, however, to burn information to the disc itself but the Lightscribe software refuses to recognize the media on any of my Macs.

Since I bought the HP drive specifically for Lightscribe I am planning to return it to the store as this seems incredibly glitchy technology still - at least for Mac users. I can't recommend it to Mac users.

I have a Mac and I'd like to share my frustrations with Lightscribe Labeler.
Quite simply, it's a POS and it doesn't work.  Actually, it worked the first time I installed it, but after that one miraculous event it refuses to start up... All I get is an alert...  And what does the alert always say?
"Lightscribe Labeler is already running. This application will now quit."
I followed all the freaking software loading instructions from their website (and the installer tells me my software is up to date) But when I launch the POS I get the same alert every time.
If it weren't so frustrating it would be laughable. What a POS. Especially because their website
says it works. What a fraud.
But I am curious?
Has anyone gotten this POS to consistently run on a mac running 10.6.3?
