Hi All !
In my research, I've found that LST, LSL, and LSQ Files are all XML Files.
I've also found, both the Template Labeler and the Simple Labeler use XML to do the label design.
Additionally, with some additions to that XML, Inkscape will generate very nice Previews of what a label will contain.
I am looking for a copy of an LSI File, preferably with Straight Text, but Curved Text is OK too.
If you're willing to send me a copy of even a blank label, please reply to this Post and I'll help you get it to me.
Thanks in advance!!!!!

Hi halfpipe !
THANKS A LOT!
Unfortunately, it' not an XML File like I was hoping. XML Notepad 2007 didn't recognize it.]!
Also, I couldn't open it with regular Notepad or Paint.NET.
It is some kind of Binary Image File.
I'll be doing more research.
THANKS AGAIN!!!!!

Hello Again halfpipe !
My research also suggested that the LSI File was a SGML File.
It also suggested that Corel was the only program that might be able to open it.
I don't think changing the file extension will help, but I will make a copy of the file and work with that to try what you suggest.
I have another program that will show HEX and equivalent TEXT I'll try.
I'll post whatever I find.
Thanks again for the quick response!

This is the biggest boondoogle I"ve ever seen. Is there really no easy way to create a lsi file? I too just bought a 7 drive Kanguru LS duplicator - uploaded all the LS system, template and laberler software (which is not very good) and when I go to save a file it only gives lsl or lsq for file type options. Other labeling software doesn't seem to give an option to save a file in lsi format. The duplicator can't read an lsl file. What gives? I've been researching for days in this forum and other sites and still can't seem to find an easy solution. Whats the point of having a 7 drive LS duplicator if I can only "print" one label at a time. This is crazy. Anybody figured this out recently? Help

Hi Todd Bontecou !
From my research an LSI File can only be generated by the proper installation of the Duplicator Manufacturer Software.
It provides the driver needed to generate the needed LSI File.
On another topic:
How I create Labels Containing a Track List
I've put together some stuff I use to create CD Labels.
- I wrote up the procedure I use in a PDF File.
- I make PDF Files of any Documentation I create.
- I have V1.14.32.1 of the LSS & since Version 1.17.90.1 of both the LSS & the corresponding Diagnostic Utility.
- I include an "Additional Stuff" Folder which contains anything I create while developing My Custom Templates.
- I created ZIP Files for 6 Windows Vista "Right-Click" Directory Commands I developed to support making Track Lists & other procedures I use.
- I "ripped off" the "Template Playlist Beta" (For which LS has NO documentation, NO source, & LAID OFF the Technician) "Full" & "Half" Disk Templates; fixed them; & then create a ZIP File of the two templates.
- I am working to develop more Custom Templates.
- I have a PDF that contains "Template vs Simple Labelers" - a comparison of what is the structure of each template.
- I found 5 FREE Tools I use for development, & have more I am testing.
- I have a PDF which contains a "Mini Resume" & a lot of "LightScribe Stuff" I've researched.
- I continually develop PDFs on the Tools I use for development.
- I developed 212 Custom Templates for the Template Labeler.
- I developed 6 collections of Images.
- I developed a New Custom Wedding Template for one Forum User.
- I developed New Custom Templates for 2 other Forum User from Sample Images they provided.
- I fixed one LSL File for another User by changing a White Outline of some Text to Black.
- I created Previews of all my Custom Templates & Images & have Mini-Catalogues of both as PDF Files.
- I created 174 ICONS & a PDF Preview.
- I developed 4 Test "borders" for the Simple Labeler.
- I tend to concentrate on Filling the entire disk surface especially with TEXT, Bold, Outline, White Text, & More Font Control.
- I have just finished designing 4 Custom Templates which use Circular Text Items & Circular, Oval, & Diamond Shaped Images.
- I published 6 Newsletters & a List of Newsletter Topics about what I've been doing & 2 other FREE Programs I've been researching.
- I am studying the XML parts of the 2007 Versions of Microsoft Office Access, Excel, & Word.
- I developed 6 User Defined Functions in VBA for Excel.
- I have all this & more in My MS Windows Live Skydrive.
- I am sharing my work with 155 Forum Users.
Send me a Private MESSAGE containing:
- Your correct E-mail Address (REQUIRED BY SITE to send links & it's NOT included automatically in a Private MESSAGE);
- Your full name (For my records); &
- A nickname you use (For my records).
I am retired on a disability, & I do this TOTALLY FREE.
I also try my best to keep E-mail Addresses confidential. I use "Blind Carbon Copies" when I send out anything.
I only occasionally send out Special Notifications, if I do something major.
The only "COST" is your E-mail Address which is REQUIRED by My Windows Live Skydrive to allow access to the stuff I've developed.
