Hello!

I am trying to print a picture on my Dvd+R TDK with lightscribe version 1.3 (he version with 5 colors). I am using a Macbook Air uptodate with Os X Lion 10.7.3, I also have downloaded here (http://www.lightscribe.com/DownloadSection/mac/index.aspx) the last system software (LSS) for mac and I am using an external slim drive, an LG GP08LU11 bought in 2009 and certified with Lightscribe, and I use DiscLabel for creating the label. So today I tryed for the first time to print a full label on the disc and after 20 minutes of "printing" it, on the dvd nothing happened it is like before (and yes I flip it over), i tried twice and still nothing... How can I solve it? Maybe it is because the hard drive doesnt support LS version 1.3? Please help me thanks!

PS. I don't think it is related but I didn't burn the disc before trying to print it because before I want to see the lightscribe result on it!

DVDs have an extra layer of plastic, so clean the LABEL side even if the disk is new.

Especially the area in the center where the "barcoding" is.

LS Disk use these for Media Detection, Positioning, & Timing.

You can do this on one that you've already tried, because these Marks allow Mutltiple Burns.

thanks but how I have to clean it? I'm not that good in english so, for exemple, i can clean it with a cloth I use to clean the macbook screen or not? IT has to be wet or dry? With alchol or water? Thanks!

EDIT: I just tried after cleaning it with a cloth a bit wet with water and I still have no result... I prefer to wait your reply before using alchol on it... I tried also to put the finger on the label to see if there is a layer of plastic that has to be scraped with the nails but I don't think so...

I don't know what to do... do you think I should try to use a Pc?! But i don't think that this is the problem cause on the Mac all work fine, the drive is detected, the print also... maybe I should change the label software?!

I just tried using Surething Print Lightscribe 5 for Windows on my PC and it printed my dvd BUT not the full surface but only the external part... even if on the preview i saw the full surface printed... here is a capture: http://img820.imageshack.us/img820/8258/immaginegrq.jpg

as you can see the preview is perfect... maybe I should change some of the options on "Copies:"? And Can i try to print it again on the same disc, since the image has not changed? thanks

I am on a PC & use Memorex CDs & DVDs, however on this forum many recommend Verbatim.

I use a Philips Cleaning Kit that allows either Dry or Wet Cleaning with a provided solution.

I have found that even NEW SPINDLES can have disks which need to be cleaned.

The problem does not sound like either software or hardware is the problem, so it still sound like cleaning should solve it.

One disk had to be cleaned 20 times before it wouuld take an image.
