Hi everybody,
I was hoping to address this to someone at Hewlett-Packard Development Company directly, but it seems they do not publish their contact details.
I live in Melbourne, Australia and I have been trying to obtain a LightScribe capable DVD-RW for the last couple days.
I have approached the most renowned computer stores across the city, and have been advised:
- that they have no drives in stock;
- they they have been out of stock since March;
- that they have no ETA for receiving new units; and
- in at least one case, that their supplier has discontinued the entire LightScribe line.
I have also read recent announcements from HP that they are no longer supplying LightScribe drives in their desktops.
So, my questions are:
- is LightScribe being
globally discontinued / phased out / wound down?
- are LightScribe drives available in other cities / countries?
- is there any future in the LightScribe tech? is there any point purchasing a LightScribe writer, assuming I can find one?
