Black Box Over Text

When I type more than two words of text in either the top or bottom text area, I get a small black box over portions of the text. The DVD's are from Samsung and are brand new. The image area near the center of the disk is clean. Changing the font or design background has no effect.

I'm using the simple lightscribe package. Is this a limit of this package? What are the limits?

Thanks for any ideas.

Additional details: When I type something like this "The Title of The Song" I get a black box between the words where the spaces are. The box actually covers a portion of the text. However, if I don't use a "space" between the words and do something like "The-Title-of-The-Song" or "The_Title_of_The_Song" it works perfectly.

It's obvious that a space isn't an acceptable character.

One thing to check that's a kind of curveball in some text entry programs is to be sure the font and size (pt) are in the Windows installed font directory. Does the right arrow key instead of using the space bar produce the same result? Offhand I have to think about this one.....

I fool around with about 900 Fonts & SOME Fonts use a Black Box or an Open Rectangular Box INSTEAD OF a space.

The way to find out is to use your Character Map Program or something to "Preview" the selected Font. It should show the Font's Space Character.

I've checked several fonts in the lightscribe program and none of them seem to handle the space character properly. All of the fonts that I've checked are installed into my computer. In addition, when I click on any of the dozens of fonts that are installed in my computer, they all appear to handle the "space" character properly.

I'm at a loss as to what's going on. I CAN get around this anomoly by just replacing the space with a different character such as a "-" or "_" or something else. I don't wish to give up on this but I don't know what else to try.

Is there a way of posting a small graphic into these forums so I can display what I'm seeing?

Does a PS (Postscript) or a TT (True Type) font both act the same? Does changing the font size have any effect? (point size as well as bold, italic, etc)
