When it comes to lightscribe burning I have found that HP seems to give better results. With verbatim I had to burn it twice to get a good result, but with HP i just have to burn it once.

Interesting about the HP media What is the media code?
Any chance you could post pictures of single and twice burned labels
I'm coming over from non lightscribe and I've had it good because all I used was Tayio Yuden discs which are really very good and cheap too. I did an event this weekend and the duplicators were choking on the Verbatim lots of failures
Maybe I was burning too fast at 16 and should knock it down to 12x?

I found no difference between HP or verbatim when it comes to having data/media burn on it, but the lightscribe capability is better on the HP. At first, I thought it did not matter what media you used when it came to the lightscribe feature, but I have found the HP prints are easier to read after 1 burn, while verbatim takes 2 burns to get the same quality.

HP disk are $6-7 at walmart for a 10 pack and $14 for a pack of 25 online with free shipping from staples.

Greetings!

Do you feel the quality of the HP for watching the movie or seeing the data is good also? I have thus far bought only Verbatim DVD-R for Lightscribe burning and yes, gnashed my teeth at what I think is less than stellar result though I have high contrast. But my concern is also the quality of the disk. HP makes some wonderful colors I would also like to try. thanks,

Hi gmt !

Memorex and HP are about the only media I can find in the stores.

HP and Memorex Colored Media, both CD & DVD seem fine.

I do,however, feel that Memorex has a quality Control problem when it comes to clean media.  I've had to clean new disk as many as 3 times to get them to work.  The failure rate is about 1 in 20.  They didn't seem interested when I reported it to them.
