I created open source lightScribe labeler for Linux. You can download sources as well as i386 and amd64 deb packages for Ubuntu from project home at sourceforge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/qlscribe/

At this stage you can add images, text and round text on the labels, also you can use your label as a template for printing from console mode. Project still is in a beta stage, but I hope should be usable. Please provide feedback, bug reports and ideas how to improve this application, and it will be usable for sure.

Thanks,
ruglory

New release 0.9 Qt lightScribe is available. In documentation section you can find document describing how to embed CDDB data into labels

Yet new release 0.11 is ready to use. Now you can edit program options (not match there yet though: default font and you can enable option to eject media after printing). Thanks

Meet release 0.12:

Fixed bug for round text not updating last used font

Main window stores/restores position and size from/to config

Round text changes radius and angle when dragged by mouse instead of moving the center

Added ability to open image as a label

Bugfix for labels opened from commandline not updating menu

Bugfix for not properly drawing partially covered window background

Enjoy!
