hi. i've been using roxio express labeller v3 and it was working fine. i recently formatted my computer and also replaced my lightscribe dvd drive (HP technical support did that). my laptop came back with its original configuration so roxio express labeller was already installed. I'm now trying to use the program to print some labels, and every time i get the following message: "An update is required to use your LightScribe system. Would you like to look for an update for your LightScribe drive software now?" so i select yes and im redirected to this page: http://h20239.www2.hp.com/techcenter/lightscribe/index.htm i downloaded and installed the update (an msdos window opened and when it was finished closed automatically) and restarted roxio, but i still get the same error message everytime im trying to print. how can i get roxio to recognise the update, or how can i get it to override that and print? tnx, anna ps is it possible that im getting this message because my new, replaced drive is not lightscribe-enabled? the logo is there on my disk tray, but who knows what drive they put in there.

To make sure that your drive is LightScribe enabled, check for the presence of the disc encoder sensor. Looking straight down on the spindle after drive tray is opened, look for presence of a LightScribe disc encoder sensor as an indicator of LightScribe capability. The position of the sensor may change slightly in different drive models.

I have attached a picture to help you identify the encoder sensor.

Please confirm that you have the latest version of the LightScribe System Software installed on your computer. It was recently updated and version “1.14.25.1” released August 29, 2008 is now available. If not, please do so now.
