I have an ATAPI iHAS220 6  SCSI CD-ROM  (according to "manage devices"). The drive has the Lightscribe logo on the front, yet I cannot burn a Lightscribe disk. 

I checked and the disks are the right kind.  I downloaded the diagnostic tool and it says it cannot detect a Lightscribe device.  I have diagnostic results that I could include, but I don't know if anyone would be able to read them or know what they mean.

Is there a support site for these devices that I can send the results to?  Can I include them in this post and would anyone be able to tell me what is going on?

      Barring an improper drive driver or a configuration error optical drives configured to communicate in RAID and SCSI modes are extremely problematic when trying to utilize the Lightscribe function. The communication mode is supposed to be backwards compatible with the IDE specification and that includes the SATA controller. Several SATA controller chips utilized in some motherboards are also not Southbridge compliant adding to the confusion. Some motherboards offer the ability to configure one or a bank of SATA ports to the AHCI or IDE modes and if the controller chip is compliant connecting and installing the drive to that port gets the Lightscribe function operational. 

Your particular drive (I believe it is produced by western Digital) seems to be very prone to problematic function operation in certain configurations due to the varied driver versions that are specific to the individual computer hardware utilized.  

I just install a review version on my computer and the drives won't work unless I update, but there is nothing there for windows 8 yet. 

Well, I hope this will be available soon.  I just got this new set of CD to burn on my lightScribe and I can't do it.
