LightScribe Forum : LightScribe Template Labeler : Updating LightScribe Template Labeler

I have noticed that there is an update for the Template Labeler to revision 1.18.22.2. It says on the website that you need to have "version 1.18.5.1 or newer must also be installed." The problem is that all I have is version 1.10.23.1.

I've tried installing versions of other newer software before and because I didn't have the last but one version, I have lost the software all together

How would I go about getting revision 1.18.22.2 without version 1.18.5.1 or newer?

The instructions for the update state that the LSS (Lightscribe System Software) must be at 1.18.5.1 or later in order to update the LTL (Lightscribe Template Labeler) at version 1.18.22.2. These are two different software components of the Lightscribe labeling process. It also states that any beta or prerelease versions MUST be uninstalled before updating. As far as version 1.10.23.1 of either component, how old is that version? Even going back several years the versions of either component are later than a 1.10.xx.x release. What operating system are you using? The current versions of the Lightscribe software are supported only on Windows 2000 and later.

I bought this computer almost 3 years ago. Version 1.10.23.1 came with the DVD drive that was pre-installed. I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium.

Do you show both the Lightscribe Template Labeler and the Lightscribe System Software as separate uninstallable programs in your Conrol Panel? What is the version of the Lightscribe Template Labeler? What is the version of the Lightscribe System Software?

Both are listed separately. Lightscribe System Software has 1.10.16.1 next to it. Lightscribe Template Labeler is blank on the Control Panel, but in the "About" section of the Template Labeler programme it's listed as 1.10.23.1

I would do the following :

1) Uninstall your Lightscribe Template Labeler (ver 1.10.23.1.)

2) Download and install (overlay) the Lightscribe System Software (ver1.18.22.2)

3) Download and install Lightscribe Template Labeler (ver 1.18.22.2)

Be sure to follow the instructions on the download page including using an Administrator logon.
