Hi Wizard Master !

The geometry of the disk label area is fixed.

The template fixes the area which will be written.

I'm using an HP Pavillion dv9825nr Notebook PC, running Windows Vista Home Premium SP1+.
I also have an HP PhotoSmart C8180 All-In-One Printer.  Both have built-in LS Drives.
Everything has been running LSS fine since 4/08.

I use Memorex disks and also HP disks almost all the time, because they are the only ones I seem to find.

If I have any problems with labeling a disk, I clean the center (hub) of the disk before burning the LABEL side first.

I use the LS Template Labeler for the LABEL side and NERO 9 for the DATA side.

I had trouble with the first two spindles I bought.

One disk had a bad DATA side and another (Memorex) had to be re-cleaned in the center (hub) of the disk 3 times of 20 turns of the cleaner, but it burned successfully.

I've also fooled around a little with the LS Simple Labeler.

I've developed 132 Custom Templates and 4 Test Background Images for the LS SL, and have share them with 121 Forum Users.

Many thanks for the info - that definately points me in the right direction.

The problem that I am having is that I was using Epson direct printing to a general blank white lable dvde and I could adjust the inner diameter. I bought a new HP PC with a Lighscribe DVD writer. The problem is that this is an upgrade from XP to Vista and the Epson direct to DVD printing doesnt work. The Lightscribe application in Vista has the direct labeller option and one of the templates is;

Epson Direct DVD printing which works great but the problem I can adjust the inner diameter like I could in the original Epson software.

If I understand your suggestion correctly - should I try another template?

Hello again Wizard Master !

I have done a lot with Custom Templates as the following illustrates.

I have even made Custom Templates for people who contact me.

How I create Labels Containing a Track List

I've put together some stuff I use to create CD Labels.

  • I wrote up the procedure I use in a PDF File.
  • I make PDF Files of any Documentation I create.
  • I have V1.14.32.1 of the LSS & since Version 1.17.90.1 of both the LSS & the corresponding Diagnostic Utility.
  • I include an "Additional Stuff" Folder which contains anything I create while developing My Custom Templates.
  • I created ZIP Files for 6 Windows Vista "Right-Click" Directory Commands I developed to support making Track Lists & other procedures I use.
  • I "ripped off" the "Template Playlist Beta" (For which LS has NO documentation, NO source, & LAID OFF the Technician) "Full" & "Half" Disk Templates; fixed them; & then create a ZIP File of the two templates.
  • I am working to develop another CD Template.
  • I have a PDF that contains "Template vs Simple Labelers" - a comparison of what is the structure of each template.
  • I found 5 FREE Tools I use for development, & have more I am testing.
  • I have a PDF which contains a "Mini Resume" & a lot of "LightScribe Stuff" I've researched.
  • I continually develop PDFs on the Tools I use for development.
  • I developed 132 Custom Templates for the Template Labeler.
  • I developed 6 collections of Images.
  • I developed a New Custom Wedding Template for one Forum User & I did one for another Forum User.
  • I fixed one LSL File for another User by changing a White Outline of some Text to Black.
  • I created Previews of all my Custom Templates & Images & have Mini-Catalogues of both as PDF Files.
  • I created 174 ICONS & a PDF Preview.
  • I developed 4 Test "borders" for the Simple Labeler.
  • I tend to concentrate on Filling the entire disk surface especially with TEXT, Bold, Outline, White Text, & More Font Control.
  • I have just finished designing 4 Custom Templates which use Circular Text Items & Circular, Oval, & Diamond Shaped Images.
  • I published 3 Newsletters & a List of Newsletter Topics about what I've been doing & 2 other FREE Programs I've been researching.
  • I am studying the XML parts of the 2007 Versions of Microsoft Office Access, Excel, & Word,
  • I have all this & more in My MS Windows Live Skydrive & on My Office Live Workspace.
  • I am sharing my work with 121 Forum Users.

Send me a Private MESSAGE containing:

  • Your correct E-mail Address (REQUIRED BY SITE to send links);
  • Your full name (For my records); &
  • A nickname you use (For my records).

I am retired on a disability, & I do this TOTALLY FREE.

I also try my best to keep E-mail Addresses confidential. I use "Blind Carbon Copies" when I send out anything.

I only occasionally send out Special Notifications, if I do something major.

The only "COST" is your E-mail Address which is REQUIRED both My MS Office Live Workspace (being discontinued) & My Windows Live Skydrive to allow access to the stuff I've developed.
