I have an HP dvd740 lightscribe burner and it just started streaking on the label.  It is the entire image, not just part of it.  It looks like ringed streaks around the disk.  Any suggestions?  I ran the diagnostic utility and I am running the most recent version of software 1.18.3.2

Hi Kevin !

A bunch of other users have experienced "smeared labels" and I think it turned out to be a hardware problem.  Usually DATA burns correctly.

It seems like something the LightScribe Sensor is not reporting Timing correctly.

First try cleaning the small block near the hub, don't confuse it with the Read/Write Head which can move.  The sensor block has a fixed position to see all the marks on the hub area of the disk.

If that doesn't help, you'll need to have the drive looked at.
