I couldn't install that label software from the Lightscribe DVD that came with my drive, I came here, looked up the information and downloaded the latest software (lightscribeApplications_1.18.15.1.pkg.tar) but when I attempted to install it said there was no appropriate disk.

I installed the optical drive itself and the software to run it, the problem is with the Simple Label software..

Any ideas?

There are two different versions of that tar file. One version is for Mac OS 10.4.0 and later, the other is for OS 10.3.9 and earlier. What is the file size of the file you are trying to install?

It doesn't matter, because I've tried all of them. NOTHING works.

Today I downloaded every file available for Mac.  Then I put them in a fresh folder than had nothing else in it, one by one. I double clicked, something went POOF! and they disappeared. No DMG, no apps in the application folder, nothing. Then I tried a few times to use the applications installer and it kept saying nope, no can do on this disk...go to lightscribe.com to get software!

HELP!
