I'm fairly new to using lightscribe on discs, I bought a couple packs of the verbatim lightscribe DVD's, I've been using their normal ones for years and never had any problems. Well my concern is, the past 3-4 movies I've burned then immediately flipped it over to burn the label, when watching it on any of my 4 DVD players in the house, there are parts in those DVD's where it'll skip or freeze. I've burned a couple DVD's the other day without burning the lightscribe label and those play perfectly fine. Is there some kind of method of burning the labels first or after burning the data, or like waiting awhile after you burned the data? I would just like some feedback to maybe help me burn my movies without any issues at all, and would greatly appreciate any help!

I had the same problem with Memorex DVDs, ruining as many disks as I was trying to make!

I ALWAYS do the Label 1st!

I blame the porgram that I used the burn the Data Side (Nero 11)!

Unlike the Data Side, the Label Side MUST be covered completely in order to do the Label.

Yes, this process heats the disk, I don't know how this can be proved.

You can ONLY burn the Data Side once!

I also don't have any idea how long you would have to wait before doing the Data Side.

So burning the label first your DVD's play flawlessly? Perhaps I'll have to try that, I'm using Nero 11, with Nero CoverDesigner for the labels. The program itself is nice, I do most of the label making on Photoshop though since there's that huge hole in lightscribe dvd's compared to retail ones.

I'll have to try out burning the label first and see how that goes, I really appreciate the quick response!

Not all the time. DVDs give me the most problems.

CDs usually work all the time.

How I create Labels Containing a Track List
I've put together some stuff I use to create CD Labels.
I wrote up the procedure I use in a PDF File.
I make PDF Files of any Documentation I create.
I have V1.14.32.1 of the LSS & since Version 1.17.90.1 of both the LSS & the corresponding Diagnostic Utility.
I include an "Additional Stuff" Folder which contains anything I create while developing My Custom Templates.
I created ZIP Files for 9 Windows Vista & 7 "Right-Click" Directory Commands I developed to support making Track Lists & other procedures I use.
One of these is a commands will make a Full Disk Playlist Label which puts a complete Track List in the Frst Text Item.
The Full Disk Template can be changed to any other desired template & edited to suit.
I've created a "LightScribe Playlist Template Creator" & am looking for Users to help test & report error.
I "ripped off" the "Template Playlist Beta" (For which LS has NO documentation, NO source, & LAID OFF the Technician) "Full" & "Half" Disk Templates; fixed them; & then create a ZIP File of the two templates.
I have a PDF that contains "Template vs Simple Labelers" - a comparison of what is the structure of each template.
I found 7 FREE Tools I use for development, & have more I am testing.
I have a PDF which contains a "Mini Resume" & a lot of "LightScribe Stuff" I've researched.
I continually develop PDFs on the Tools I use for development.
I've developed 490 Custom Templates (in 77 Collections + 9 Private Ones), 108 Images (in 12 Collections), 174 Icons, & 4 Test Background Images for the LS SL.
I developed 4 Test "borders" for the Simple Labeler.
I developed a New Custom Wedding Template for one Forum User.
I developed 11 Custom Templates for 5 other Forum User from Sample Images they provided or Detailed Descriptions.
I developed 4 Custom Templates which use Circular Text Items & Circular, Oval, & Diamond Shaped Images.
I developed 6 User Defined Functions in VBA for Excel for Transforms.
I developed 4 User Defined Functions in VBA for Excel for Circles & Ellipse.
I developed 11 User Defined Functions in VBA for Excel for Path Data.
I developed 27 User Defined Functions in VBA for Excel for various Shapes, Paths, & General Use.
I've created a VBA Module with the most used of these Functions.
I've created Excel Workbooks for design of Arc (Curved) Text Items.
I fixed one LSL File for another User by changing a White Outline of some Text to Black & helped another edit the Grayscale Color of text.
I created Previews of all my Custom Templates & Images & have Mini-Catalogues of both as PDF Files.
I created 174 ICONS & a PDF Preview.
I tend to concentrate on Filling the entire disk surface especially with TEXT, Bold, Outline, White Text, & More Font Control.
I published 25 Newsletters & a List of Newsletter Topics about what I've been doing & 2 other FREE Programs I've been researching.
I have studied the XML parts of the 2007 Versions of Microsoft Office Access, Excel, & Word.
I just developed 8 Template Making Tutorials
I have all this & more in My MS Windows Live Skydrive.
I am working to develop more Custom Templates.
I am sharing my work with 373 Forum Users.
