and do i do to fix this problem? in both lightscribe control panel and when i issue a file/print in nero, i do not see any lightscribe drives, even tho i went out and specifically bought a samsung superwirter master w/ lightscribe emblazoned on the drive and then installed it on the system. how do i troubleshoot this problem? os: WIN XP PRO SP 3

What version of Nero are you using?
I am using Nero 9 & if I select "Nero Cover Designer" & mouse over "Record directly to disc..." it shows my 2 LS Drives. It also asks to have a disc inserted in the drive.
I didn't design a label, so I'm not sure I had the correct option.

Error: "Disc in LightScribe drive is not recognized" is the error I'm receiving. I have HP LightScribe CD-R disc in the drive with the label side down. There is no dirt or smudges. Brand new. Tried several from my package of LightScribe discs. HELP!?

idic5 idic5: Sounds like Nero is not being nice to you. Try using the LightScribe Simple Labeler just to see if it works. If it does then you know that its the Nero program that has a problem. If it doesn't work then its probably something else. (that means uninstalling anything Nero off of your system.)
kevin r.: Check the inner ring of the Label Side. there is a fat section of bar codes there. If there are scratches or defects, then the LS program will have a hard time reading it. So, clean it off and put it back in and see if it works. Or return it and get a new package of discs.
