I just purchased a 22x dvd super multi I/O magic Light Scribe Drive. Thing is when I plug into my computer, windows sees it as "removable drive". When I look at it under management it appears under disk drives not dvd/cd drives. It shows up as "SPIF301 USB2SATA Bridge Device" .I have tried downloading drivers for this hardware but alas it apparently is supposed to be PnP. Guess what...it's not, and so far I/O and microsoft have had me leap through the hoops of tech bs to get it to work to no avail. I.E. change drive letter, re-boot, go under management and fiddle with settings and properties including the start and stop of devices, connect to different computer , use different OS, download and use new universal bus drivers, wear a chicken suit and do a rain dance , yada yada yada. Hoping someone here can give me either a driver for this thing or expain why it's not working. Because the idea of having spent $89(stupid Staples) for a paper weight makes me want to return it to the store through their big plate glass window.

also when I try to access any media (dvd+/- rw cd) the whole sha bang a bang I get the message"please insert disk". Rather frustrating. I actually bought the drive to be able to produce clean looking demos for my band versus spending money shipping them out across country to be pressed up at a ridiculous cost and now I wish I kept my money. Hoping someone can make this a worthwhile investment for me.

I'm having the exact same problem as you, to the letter, Staples and everything. Also, like you, I am fighting the urge not to send this 90$ hunk of #$*&^## back through their window. Sorry that I don't have any helpful advice. If you manage to get yours working, let me know, and I'll do the same. Edit - I can't believe it censored out the word #$*&^## (starts with c, sounds like clap).
