Hi, I would like to know if the drive hp bd rom bc-5500s ata device is a Lightscribe device or not?

Hi

I didnt buy the notebook with this cd rom yet so I can not check if there is a LightScribe logo on the device or not.

The store has lichtscribe in the description, hp site not. So that's why I am asking here

Hello again kebab !

That's why I referred you to that article.

If you pop the tray; the LS Sensor is as shown in the pictures; & everything is hooked-up correctly, then the drive is an LS Drive & should be recognized by the software (LightScribe System Software & Diagnostic Utility).

Hi. thanks again for you reply but I didnt buy the notebook with that dvd drive jet.

It is an online shop and I dont want to drive there only to check the drive. I am asking because the shop states that the drive is  lightscribe but on the manufactures site (hp) there is no info about that.
