Double sided Lightscribe burners?
Are there any double sided LightScribe DVD burners out there? I think this is promising technology but the current consumer DVD burner options are not feasible for duplication use. I need to be able to dynamically burn both the DVD & label in one pass when doing bulk burns. I do not want to burn the same DVD 20 times, but 20 different DVDs with 20 different labels.
It's not realistic to burn the DVDs and flip them over and get the right unique label burned to the right DVD. (it's like printing double sided on an older printer) The order is critical and more times than not someone is going to get the order wrong and the print will be on the wrong media.
I did a Google search and didn't find anything. Does a drive not exist that allows me to burn a DVD & do the LightScribe printing without removing/flipping the disc? (I’m guessing it would be a double-sided DVD burner)
Hi Ed !
I don't have a duplicator, but I've tried to help several users who do.
Un the process of doing that I haven't come across what you describe.
I have come across some that can be daisy-chained and work independent of each other.
I also found that you can have multiple instances of the LS Template Labeler.
From what I have learned is that an LSI File is used as a master image for the label.
With two daisy-chained duplicator, you may be able to be labeling one set and putting data on the other set.
You would still have to turn the disks over using some manual effort.
