It worked before, but it doesn't now.

Ok, i'm really frustrated about this.  I was labeling discs with my lightscribe drive, then all of a sudden I get this error:

A Lightscribe disc was not detected in the drive.  Please insert a Lightscribe disc with the label side down.

I had the disc in, with the side down.  I know there isn't a problem with the drive itself because it plays media.  I downloaded the diagnostic software and it said there were no problems with the drive, but for some reason it won't make any labels.

I have a MASHITADVD-RAM UJ-861H ATA DEVICE if anyone knows what's going on. Any help is appreciated.  Thanks

Hi ajcorp !

Defective Media is always a possibility, but have you tried cleaning the label side?

Especially clean the hub area.

The hub area contains marks which are used for Media Detection, Media Positioning, and Timing.

Media Detection is probably the touchiest of the three.

Also, try another disk.  There is more in the "Knowledge Base" under the "LightScribe Toolbox" in the links at the top of every page.
