I'm using a firewire LaCie d2 DVD±R external drive and LaCie Lightscribe Labelling Software with a Macbook. Lately I've been getting random burn failures that look like this...

I've reinstalled all of the Lightscribe software but to no avail. Any suggestions?

I'm not positive, but it looks like you may be having a problem with your drive.
It could be either the position detection or the actual laser diode.
I personally think it's more probably the positioner in the detection circuit.
Hope that's not too technical, but I'd recommend getting the drive checked out.
